Fidel Castro chết ở tuổi 90

Fidel Castro đi  theo cộng sản thời nổi dậy.

Chính phủ Cuba tuyên bố cả nước để tang 9 ngày. Hài cốt Castro sẽ dược an táng tại nghĩa trang Santa Ifigenia ở Santiago de Cuba vào ngày 4 tháng 12

 Báo The Guardian tổng lược phản ứng thế giới:


- Tổng thống Mỹ Barack Obama tỏ tình thân hữu với quần chúng Cuba và nói "Lịch sử sẽ ghi nhận và phán xét về ảnh hưởng to lớn" của Castro. 

- Tổng thống tân cử Donald Trump mô tả Castro như là một "nhà độc tài tàn bạo đã đàn áp chính dân tộc của ông ta trong suốt gần sáu thập niên" và hy vọng ông ta chết đi sẽ đưa tự do lại cho dân Cuba.

- Trong các nguyên thủ các nước Mỹ La tinh đã tỏ lòng kính trọng gồm có các Tổng thống Venezuela  Nicolás Maduro; Tổng thống Enrique Peña Nieto của Mexico; Tổng thống Rafael Correa của Ecuador.

- Tổng thống Nga Vladimir Putin ca tụng Castro như là một biểu tượng của một thời đại. Còn cựu chủ tịch Xô viết Mikhail Gorbachev ca ngợi Castro là người đã củng cố đảo quốc của ông ta.

Tổ chức Nelson Mandela Foundation đã gửi phân ưu tới dân chúng và chính phủ Cuba, và Tổng thống Nam Phi Jacob Zuma cám ơn Castro đã giúp đỡ trong cuộc đấu tranh loại bỏ chế độ kỳ thị chủng tộc.

- Thế nhưng ngược lại sự vui mừng đã bộc phát tại Tiểu Thủ đô Havana ở vùng phụ cận Miami, nơi có đông người tị nạn cộng sản Cuba cư ngụ. 

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, dân biểu Mỹ đầu tiên gốc Cuba nói rằng Castro là một "tên độc tài và gã đâm chém" và vui mừng coi cái chết của Castro là cơ hội để hành động cho một Cuba tự do, dân chủ và thịnh vượng.

- The Nelson Mandela Foundation sent its condolences to the people and government of Cuba, and South African President Jacob Zuma thanked Castro for his help and support in the struggle to overthrow apartheid.
- But celebrations broke out in Little Havana, the Miami neighbourhood home to many Cubans in exile in the US.
- And Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the first Cuban-American elected to Congress, said Castro was a “tyrant and thug” and hailed his death as an opportunity to “work for a Cuba that is free, democratic, and prosperous”.
